BOSTON, January 07, 2025--BXP (NYSE: BXP), the largest publicly traded developer, owner, and manager of premier workplaces in the United States, announced today that on December 27, 2024, it completed the acquisition of 725 12th Street, a 300,000 square foot, 12-story property in the East End of Washington, DC, for a gross purchase price of $34 million. SL Green Realty New York’s largest office landlord, told investors last month that tenant demand has been so strong that the firm hopes to buy a major development site by the end of this year. Tenants occupied 22% more top-tier office space in the third quarter of last year than they did at the end of 2019, according to real-estate services firm CBRE Group. For the rest of the office market, businesses occupied 5% less space in October than tenants did before the pandemic started, CBRE said.
